1st Brazilian Family Farming 4.0 Symposium
The Brazilian Family Farming 4.0 Symposium aims to broaden the debate about the necessary adaptation of family farming to technological innovations as a tool for sustainable and inclusive rural development, value aggregation and digital inclusion. The specific objectives are: (i) to discuss concepts, effects, effectiveness, and adaptation around the family agriculture tripod - digital inclusion - sustainable development, (ii) demonstrate the importance of stimulating the use of ICT in the rural family environment, and (iii) of ICTs as a strategic tool for sustainable rural development and for adding value to production.All approved papers will be published in the Symposium. The best papers will be forward to be published in Electronic Journal Digital Skills for Family Farming.

The 1st Brazilian Family Farming 4.0 Symposium will focus on "Family Farming, Digital Inclusion and Sustainable Development", and will bring discussions about the theme from the perspectives of labor market and academic actors.

Paper Submission
Meeting Schedule
- Opening of Paper Submission: September, 17th 2018.
- Closing the Acceptance of Paper Submissions: October, 21st 2018. Extended to October, 28th 2018.
Submission Guidelines
- The submitted articles must be unpublished.
- We accept submissions of articles in Portuguese, English, and Spanish languages.
- If approved, the article will be published in the form of Congress Annals online, under the international Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license (CC BY-SA-NC), respecting the author's rights.
- The article must have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 pages, including in this limit the title, the summary, the sections, the references, the appendices and the annexes.
- Pages should be A4 size, with 2.0 cm margins.
- All hyperlinks entered in the article must be active.
- For formats and styles, the articles must adopt the formats and styles from 6th APA Style Manual.
- The contributions have the freedom of structure, however, it is mandatory: I- Title; II- Abstract; III- Keywords (not less than 3 nor more than 5); and IV- Bibliography and citations, in 6th APA Format
- The ODT, DOC, DOCX or RTF file formats are supported.
- PDF formats will not be accepted.
All approved papers will be published in the Symposium. The best papers will be forward to be published in Electronic Journal Digital Skills for Family Farming.
Submission Process
- The paper should be submitted as an attachment and sent by e-mail to the address gptad.eventos@gmail.com.
- In addition to attaching the paper, information about all authors must be included in the message:
- Full Name
- Social Number ID
- The last academic title, area, and university (Example: Doctor of Information Science - São Paulo State University)
- The current institutional link
- All other communications will be sent by email.
Can I submit my presentation by video conference?
We suggest that the authors present their researches in 1st Brazilian Family Farming 4.0 Symposium at the conference, but knowing the geographic dimension of Brazil, we will here provide the instructions for recording the presentation in video format for 1st Brazilian Family Farming 4.0 Symposium.
The video recording is optional for authors who perform the presentation at the conference. However, we would suggest recording the video as well to the authors who present it in person to broaden the scope of the search results.
We asked the authors who were selected for presentation in video format to send a version of their presentation until November 26th, 2018, following the following requirements:
- Maximum presentation time: 10 minutes;
- During recording stay in the center of the video;
- Preferably use the clean background (wall with light colors, without displaying objects);
- In cases where recording is done with a cell phone, keep the device horizontal;
- Make sure the sound pickup was adequate;
- Remember to open your video with a brief presentation of the event for which it is intended and of the authors involved;
- In conclusion or in the notes (from YouTube itself) it is recommended to include forms of contact with the authors;
- Make the online video available on YouTube and send the following data to the Scientific Committee (fabio.moreira@unesp.br):
- The hyperlink to youtube video;
- Title of presentation (Portuguese);
- Video description (up to 200 words) (Portuguese);
- Title of presentation (English);
- Video description (up to 200 words) (English).
- The hyperlink of access to the video posted on Youtube should be sent by (18/11/2018).
- We recommend that the presentation format is based on the slides to improve the sound pickup and to avoid problems of light and of fixation of the camera.
- It is also recommended that photos of the authors be presented in the opening slides.
- It is not allowed is the use of artificial vocalization. An example is the presentation of Cash Flow to Small Producers.
