Abstract
The research has as main objective identifying the existence of studies in the Library and Information Science (LIS) national literature that discuss the education of information professionals to perform in the research data field as well as identifying studies that deal with the development of research data literacy by students and researchers. The search conducted used national and international databases, also Google Scholar. Data analysis and interpretation were performed using the content analysis technique. The research did not identify papers in the national literature of LIS that seek to discuss in their main objectives the education of information professionals in the research data field and/or the development of research data literacy by academic libraries and scientific information services. It observed the need for more discussions and research on these topics in the national scientific literature to contribute to changes in the current curricula of LIS Schools in Brazil and to improve the information services provided to students and researchers in order to follow the latest transformations on scientific research.
