e-CoDAF - Digital Skills for Family Farmers Meeting
The E-CoDAF - Digital Skills for Family Farming Meeting is promoted by the CoDAF - Digital Skills for Family Farming Meeting project. The meeting takes place annually, focusing on the presentation of reflections on proposals for the application and use of Information and Communication Technologies by the rural sector, especially for producers and interested in Family Farming, and has the collaboration of higher education institutions, which increases its visibility and the achievement of results. The papers presented at the event are available in the Proceedings.

Approaching the smallholder to accessing and using data: building bridges between their needs and ICT
The VI e-CoDAF - 6th Digital Skills Conference for Family Agriculture presents this year the theme: Approaching the smallholder to accessing and using data: building bridges between their needs and ICT. VI e-CoDAF is promoted by the CoDAF project - Digital Competences for Family Agriculture and focuses on the presentation of reflections on proposals for the development and use of Information and Communication Technologies by the rural sector, especially for small producers. In this edition, it will count on the collaboration of three higher education institutions (UNESP/Tupã, FATEC/Presidente Prudente, UFPA/Belém), which increases its visibility and results reach.

The VI e-CoDAF will be held on November 8th, 2019, from 9 AM to 22 PM, local time.

Paper Submission
Meeting Schedule
- Opening of Paper Submission: June, 11st 2019.
- Closing the Acceptance of Paper Submissions: August, 31st 2019, extended due to September, 15th 2019.
Submission Guidelines
- Tematic lines: 1. Theoretical discussions about availability, access, use, reuse and management of data and information by small producers; 2. Use of ICT in the search for environmental and social sustainability of small properties; 3. ICT use cases in data and information management in small properties, and; 4. Public policies to bring together small producers and ICT.
- The articles submitted must be unpublished because they will be submitted to a plagiarism detection tool.
- We accept submissions of articles in Portuguese, English, and Spanish languages.
- If approved, the article will be published as an eBook with ISBN and the best articles will be indicated for publication in the Revista Digital Competências para Agricultura Familiar (RECoDAF).
- The article must have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 pages, including in this limit the title, abstract, summary in the foreign language, sections of content, references, appendices and annexes.
- Pages should be A4 size, with 3cm (upper and left) and 2cm (bottom and right) margins.
- All hyperlinks entered in the article must be active.
- For formats and styles, the articles must adopt the formats and styles from 6th APA Style Manual.
- The contributions have the freedom of structure, however, it is mandatory: I- Title; II- Abstract; III- Keywords (not less than 3 nor more than 5); and IV- Bibliography and citations, in 6th APA Format
- The ODT, DOC, DOCX or RTF file formats are supported.
- PDF formats will not be accepted.
Submission Process
- The paper should be submitted as an attachment and sent by e-mail to the address codaf@tupa.unesp.br.
- In addition to attaching the paper, information about all authors must be included in the message:
- Full Name
- Social Number ID
- The last academic title, area, and university (Example: Doctor of Information Science - São Paulo State University)
- The current institutional link
- All other communications will be sent by email.
Can I submit my presentation by video conference?
Considering the geographic dimension of Brazil and its implications for the logistics to the place of the VI e-CoDAF, if your article is approved there is the possibility of presenting it in the video format. The recording and sending of the video will be optional for the authors who make their presentation in person, but we recommend that you also do so because the content will be announced on the official channels of the event in order to broaden the scope of the search results.
Vídeo requirements:
- Maximum presentation time: 10 minutes;
- During recording stay in the center of the video;
- Preferably use the clean background (wall with light colors, without displaying objects);
- In cases where recording is done with a cell phone, keep the device horizontal;
- Make sure the sound pickup was adequate;
- Remember to open your video with a brief presentation of the event for which it is intended and of the authors involved;
- In conclusion or in the notes (from YouTube itself) it is recommended to include forms of contact with the authors;
- Make the online video available on YouTube and send the following data to the Scientific Committee (fabio.moreira@unesp.br):
- The hyperlink to youtube video;
- Title of presentation (Portuguese);
- Video description (up to 200 words) (Portuguese);
- Title of presentation (English);
- Video description (up to 200 words) (English).
- The hyperlink of access to the video posted on Youtube should be sent by (10/10/2019) to the email fabio.moreira@unesp.br.
- We recommend that the presentation format is based on the slides to improve the sound pickup and to avoid problems of light and of fixation of the camera.
- It is also recommended that photos of the authors be presented in the opening slides.
- It is not allowed is the use of artificial vocalization. An example is the presentation of Cash Flow to Small Producers.
